Gingerbread Socks is a knitting pattern for Christmas socks with a gingerbread motif.
The socks are knitted from the toe up in stranded colorwork.
This pattern includes sizes for adults and older children (see Sizes). For smaller sizes, you can knit the kids' pattern Gingerbread Socks Junior.
Sizes: EU shoe sizes 38/39, 40/41 and 42/43, with recommendations for foot circumferences of 21.8 cm and 20.5 cm.
Gauge: 32 x 28 stitches or 34 x 30 stitches over 10 x 10 cm, depending on size.
Difficulty level: This pattern has very long floats, so it is recommended to have experience with keeping your tension even during stranded colorwork.
Recommended needle size: 3.0 mm or 2.5 mm. Go for the needle size that gives you the right gauge!

You can use another yarn that gives you the right knitting tension. If you get a different number of stitches in height, you can easily adjust the sock by following the centimeter measurements in the pattern and possibly trying the sock on along the way.
